Messiah in Rosh HaShanah II & Chanukkah II Chapter 19

EPISODE TWELVE.  It is reported that there was about 5,000 men in attendance who were eye-witnesses of the miracle (besides women and children). All 5,000 men were fed by the loaves and fishes that Messiah received from the offering of the little boy.

  1. The meaning of the feeding of the five thousand

The meaning of the feeding of the five thousand:

So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. Yeshua then took the loaves, and having given thanks, He distributed to those who were seated; likewise also of the fish as much as they wanted. When they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments so that nothing will be lost.” So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. Therefore when the people saw the sign (attesting miracle) which He had performed, they said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.” So (the Messiah) Yeshua, perceiving that they (5,000 men) were intending to come and take Him by force to make Him king, withdrew again to the mountain by Himself alone. Seeing this miraculous “sign” the people recalled Moses’ prediction that a Prophet like him would arise (Deuteronomy 18:15). Moses had fed the people. Moses had led them out of Egyptian bondage. The Messiah had fed the people. The Messiah could lead the people out of the hated Gentile (Roman) bondage. The people saw His sign, but they did not perceive its meaning. They wanted to seize Him and “make Him King.” This marks the high point of the Suffering Messiah’s popularity. It was a great temptation for Him. Could the Messiah possess the kingdom without securing redemption for His people? Could He bypass His having to sacrifice His life on the accursed tree? The answer is No! The Messiah’s kingdom had to be earned by righteous deeds. After the Messiah had atoned for the sins of Israel and all mankind, then and only then would the Father in heaven make all of His enemies as His footstool (cf. Psalm 2:7-12; Daniel 7:13 & 14). Therefore He could be the glorified reigning haAryei Mishevet Yehudah (הָאַרְיֵה מִשֵּׁבֶט יְהוּדָה-the Lion of the tribe of Judah), the Individual-Suffering Servant (אִ֥ישׁ מַכְאֹב֖וֹת-Man of Anguish-Sorrows) had to first become the humble, sacrificial Lamb of Elohim (The Lamb of G-d) who in atonement for sin became sin so that we might become the righteousness of Abba Avinu in the Messiah Yeshua. The Salvation of Adonai did not originate from the people of this world. The Salvation of Adonai (Yeshua) came from Avinu Shebashamayim. The path of the will of the Father (HaAv) had to come from another direction than the path of the evil one and the fallen race of Adam that is ‘presently‘ under his control. The path of Messiah was, is, and always will be the way of the Humble Man. The path of the evil one is always one of Pride. TO BE CONTINUED AFTER SPRING 2018.
