Today is Day #19:
1. Today is “Day #19” in the forty-nine day Countdown to Shavuot.
2. Today is nineteen days which are two weeks and five days of the Omer.
.היום תשעה עשר יום, שהם שני שבועות וחמישה ימים בעומר
Haiyom tish’ah asar yom, shehaym shnay shavuot vechamishah yamim ba’omer.
“You shall count for yourselves — from the day after the Shabbat, from the day when you bring the Omer of the waving — seven Shabbats, they shall be complete. Until the day after the seventh sabbath you shall count, fifty days.” (Leviticus). “You shall count for yourselves seven weeks, from when the sickle is first put to the standing crop shall you begin counting seven weeks. Then you will observe the Festival of Shavu’ot for Adonai Eloheinu.” (Deuteronomy).
“Blessed are You, Adonai Eloheinu, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us concerning the counting of the Omer.”
ברוך אתה, אדוני אלוהינו, מלך העולם, אשר קדשנו במצוותיו וצוונו על ספירת העומר.פ
Baruch atah, Adonai Eloheinu, melech ha’olam, asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu al sefirat ha’omer.
The Nineteenth Mashal of Messiah:
וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם עַל־כֵּן כָּל־סוֹפֵר מְלֻמָּד לְמַלְכוּת הַשָׁמַיִם דּוֹמֶה לְאִישׁ בַּעַל־בַּיִת הַמּוֹצִיא מֵאוֹצָרוֹ חֲדָשׁוֹת וְגַם יְשָׁנוֹת׃
He (the Mashiach) said to them, “Therefore every scholar (סוֹפֵר-scribe) who is educated in the kingdom of Heaven can be compared to the owner of a house who brings out of his storehouse new things as well as old.”
Observation #1. This final (eighth) kingdom of Heaven mashal is an integration of all the other meshalim (parables).
Observation #2. Having spoken of the Fish Net and the “End of the Age,” the Mashiach turns to His talmadin and asks them if they had understood all of the revelatory material that He had been teaching them thus far.
Observation #3. Amazingly, they replied, “Yes, Lord.” It is rather obvious that they did not understand the Messiah. Their understanding of the meshalim would have truly required a wisdom (דְּבַר חָכְמָה) that they did not possess until after they received the (illuminating) Gift of the Indwelling Presence of the Spirit of the Holy One after Messiah’s ascension into heaven.
Observation #4. At this time the disciples of Messiah did not understand that there would be a rather lengthy age between the advent of the Suffering Messiah (the Kingdom of heaven) and the culminating advent of the Conquering Messiah (the Kingdom of Adonai).
Observation #5. The Master did not challenge His disciples’ immaturity and false self-confidence but instead told them that if they remained truly faithful in studying and applying the truths He was teaching them, they would learn to bring out of the treasure house of G-d’s truth both new things and old.
Interpretation of the “Owner of the House:”
The Master was saying to His disciples, “I have revealed the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven to you but I have not done this principally for your benefit alone. I entrusted you with these supernatural truths so you could pass them on to others.” The Messiah’s direction to His followers was threefold:
Directive #1. The talmidin of the Mashiach were to be as diligent as a scribe in insuring that His teaching was flawlessly transmitted through them out to others.
Directive #2. Unlike the scribes, the disciples were to be as compassionate, caring, and helpful as a head of household is when (in love and self-sacrifice) he communicates to his own family.
Directive #3. When the talmidin imparted the treasures of G-d to the people of Israel (and later to the Gentiles) they were to remember to tether the new treasures of the Mashiach to the old treasures of the Nevi’im (the Prophets).
This third assigned task meant that when the disciples imparted the messianic revelation of the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven to others, they were to connect these new spiritual truths back to their sources in the Tanakh. The disciples were to transmit the Teaching of Messiah in such a way that it was clear to all that the mysteries they were revealing were always sourced—rooted and grounded (שורשים ומייסדים-literally “roots and founders”) in the Nevi’im—the prophetic writings of the Hebrew Scriptures. In this way the hearers would clearly understand that what was concealed as ‘mysteries’ in the Tanakh (the old treasures) were now being imparted to them as newly revealed mysteries; that is the sodim, sodit, the new treasures of the teachings of the Messiah that are imparted through you His students (את התלמידים-et hatalmidin)—-emissaries, sent ones (השליחים-hashlichim).
This mashal of Messiah is a prophecy that His Jewish disciples would be sent out to make disciples of all the nations of the world.
As shlicihim (sent ones, emissaries) of the Mashiach it would become necessary for these select Yehudim to write a new set of scriptures whose revelatory foundation would be grounded and sourced in the Tanakh (the written D’var HaShem). This new set of scriptures would include the Old Treasure (the Tanakh) and the New Treasure—HaBrit HaChadashah: הברית החדשה. Therefore, during the era of the Kingdom of heaven the House(hold) of G-d would undergo further construction so that the national and international prophetic work of the Salvation of Adonai begun in the Tanakh might be completed (fulfilled) in the messianic work of the Brit HaChadashah.
The new House of G-d is more spacious than the old; and there is now more treasure in the House of G-d.
The Holy One has added New Treasure to His House. Our Father in heaven’s abundant mercy, grace, and love has now made it possible for us to bring-in to His House, the House of The Father of All (Avi-khol), all of the Gentiles who are willing to submit themselves to the rule of the G-d of Heaven (Elah Shemaiya). This is so that His will may be done throughout all of the earth. This means the gentiles will no longer be strangers to us (the House of Israel). By their repentance and voluntary profession of faith in Adonai Eloheinu they now are considered as fellow citizens ‘with us’ in the Kingdom of heaven.
This means as with us Jews the souls of the gentile converts must be built upon the sure foundation of the prophets (הַנְּבִיאִים) and the Jewish shlichim (הַשְּׁלִיחִים), with Yeshua Ha-Mashiach Himself being the Cornerstone (אֶבֶן הַפִּנָּ).
Therefore it is upon this great foundation that the whole building (the Commonwealth of Israel) is being fit together, which is growing into a holy Temple for Adonai (קֺדֶשׁ לַיהוה), in whom we believing Jews and Gentiles (together) are being built into a dwelling of G-d in the Spirit (מִשְׁכַּן אֱלֹהִים עַל־יְדֵי הָרוּחַ).
