Messiah in Pesach Chapter 5
- Rosh Hashanah of the Sacred Year
- Full reflection of the Sun
Rosh Hashanah of the Sacred Year:
Aviv is the month of the barley sprouting green ears; the color green represents innocence and purity.
The Passover sacrifice of the Lamb of God (Seh Ha-Elohim) in the month of *Aviv (אביב-modern: ear of barley, spring; ancient: green ears), later called Nisan, is the beginning of the months, the birth month of the sacred or ecclesiastical year. Therefore the Rosh Hashanah of the sacred year is Nisan 1. The Rosh Hashanah of the civil year is Tishri 1.
*Aviv-The stage in the maturity of the barley grain when the seeds have reached their full size and are filling with starch, but they have not yet dried out. During the plague of hail (Exodus 9:31), the barley was said to be aviv (אָבִיב) and the flax giv`ol (גִּבְעֹֽל).
וְהַפִּשְׁתָּה וְהַשְּׂעֹרָה נֻכָּתָה כִּי הַשְּׂעֹרָה אָבִיב וְהַפִּשְׁתָּה גִּבְעֹֽל׃
“Now the flax and the (1, 2) barley were ruined (literally smitten), for the barley was in the ear and the flax was in bud.”
Full reflection of the Sun:
Pesach-Chag HaMatzot (Nisan 15) and Sukkot (Tishri 15) fall upon the 15th day of their respective months (the first and seventh months when there is a full moon).
How can Pesach fall on both the 14th and the 15th of Nisan?
The answer is the whole festive season of the day of Pesach and the following days of Unleavend Bread are treated as a “unit.” Therefore there exists a double meaning to the Festival. This is so because the two observances are inextricably tied together. The sacrifice of Pesach is what allows us to remove the chametz from our hearts, souls, and bodies. Therefore, without our exercising faith in the atoning death of the Korban Pesach (the Messiah) our sins, our chametz, will remain in our house.
לכן אמרתי לכם שתמותו בחטאיכם; שכן אם אינכם מאמינים כי אני הוא, מות תמותו בחטאיכם. פ
Therefore I told you that you will die in your sins; For if you do not believe I am he [the Redeemer, the Messiah], you will die in your sins.
This means without first exercising faith in the one time sacrifice of Messiah (our permanent Korban Pesach) our house will remain desolate (נָטַשׁ-smitten, deserted; i.e. without the Indwelling Presence of the Holy One). Therefore, without faith it is impossible to please Adonai; and without our exercising faith in M’shicho (whom He sent) we will remain defiled (טָמֵא-unclean) and unable to be restored to right fellowship (קְרֵבוּת-close relationship) with Him.
Both Pesach and Sukkot are observed during full moons when the sabbatical months of Nisan and Tishri attain to their full strength. The full moon is a reflective event where all of the reflective power of the Sun’s brilliant light is being displayed throughout all of the the body of the Moon.
