Mashal of the Assembly in Laodicea:

משל של הקהלת בלאודיקאה

אל מלאך קהלת לאודיקאה כתב: את אלה הדברים אומר האמן, העד הנאמן והאמתי, הראשית של בריאת אלוהים: פ

To the Messenger of the Laodicea community write: These words are said by the Amen (האמן), the Faithful and True Witness (העד הנאמן והאמתי-Ha’ed HaNe’eman HaEmeti), the Beginning of the Creation of God (הראשית בריאת האלוהים-HaReishit Bri’at HaElohim):

אני יודע את מעשיך, שלא קר אתה ולא חם. מי יתן והיית קר או חם. ובכן, מפני שאתה פושר ולא חם ולא קר, אני עתיד להקיא אותך מפי. מכיון שאתה אומר ‘עשיר אני; עשרתי ולא חסר לי כלום’ ואינך יודע שאתה האמלל והמסכן, עני ועור וערום, אנכי מציע לך לקנות ממני זהב צרוף באש למען תעשיר, ובגדים לבנים למען תתלבש ולא תראה בשת ערותך, וקילורית למשח את עיניך למען תראה. אני את אשר אהב אוכיח ואיסר. לכן היה נמרץ וחזר בתשובה. הנני עומד ליד הדלת ודופק. איש כי ישמע את קולי ויפתח את הדלת, אכנס אליו ואסעד אתו והוא אתי.  פ

I know what you are doing that you are not cold and not hot. Let it be cold or hot. Well, because you are tepid and not hot or cold, I will spew you out of My Mouth. Because you say, “I am rich; I have become wealthy, and need nothing,” and you do not know that you are miserable (האמלל), poor (המסכן), wretched (עני), blind (עור), and naked (ערום), I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire that you may be [truly] rich, and white clothes to clothe yourself so that your nakedness will not be exposed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. Those whom I love (אני את אשר אהב), I reprove and discipline (אוכיח ואיסר); so be definite (נמרץ-zealous) in repentance (בתשובה). See, I am standing at the door and knocking. If anyone hears, understands, and obeys (ישמע) My Voice (קולי) and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

המנצח, אני אתן לו לשבת אתי על כסאי כמו שגם אני נצחתי וישבתי עם אבי על כסאו. מי שאזן לו, ישמע נא מה שהרוח אומרת לקהלות. פ

The victor, I will let him sit on My throne with Me as I too overcame and sat with My Father on His throne. Whoever listens (מי שאזן לו-has an ear to hear) will hear, understand, and obey (שמע-shama) what the Spirit says to the assemblies.
