Messiah in Purim Chapter 15
- Isaac is a type of the sacrificed Messiah
- The Nation of Israel is elect and the international Body of Messiah is elect
- Almighty God’s Sovereign Grace
Isaac is a type of the sacrificed Messiah:
וַיֹּאמֶר אַבְרָהָם אֱלֹהִים יִרְאֶה־לֹּו הַשֶּׂה לְעֹלָה בְּנִי וַיֵּלְכוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם יַחְדָּֽו׃
ויאמר אברהם אלהים יראה־לו השה לעלה בני וילכו שניהם יחדו׃
Father Avraham said, “God will provide (literally see, ra’ah-רָאָה) for Himself the lamb (הַשֶּׂה-HaSeh; i.e. שֵׂה הָאֱלֹהִים-Seh HaElohim] for the burnt offering, my son.” So the two of them walked on together.
Isaac is a type of the Messiah Yeshua). In a prophetic role-play directed by God Isaac died the day God called Abraham to sacrifice his beloved son.
After a three day journey father Abraham and Isaac climbed up Mount Moriah. This is the same mountain on which God’s Beloved Son the Messiah Yeshua ben Yosef ben David was sacrificed.
Thereafter, in this prophetic role-play Isaac was sacrificed and resurrected—given back alive to his father—when God assured Abraham He would personally “provide” the sacrifice.(cf. Genesis 22).
This Binding of Isaac (עֲקֵידַת יִצְחַק) is also known as the Binding (הָעֲקֵידָה) and the Akedah of Isaac. It is a graphic prophetic picture of God’s sacrifice of His own Son two thousand years after Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac. Without the Messiah’s righteous sacrifice—the shedding of His blood—the *sacrifice of both his physical and spiritual life—there would be no forgiveness for sin.
*Korban Pesach.
Rightly so our heavenly Father requires that all of our sins be paid for.
God warned the first Adam that the just penalty for his disobedience would be spiritual and physical death. The first Adam failed. He sinned. He did not remain righteous; so he could not redeem his bride when she transgressed in the Garden of Eden. Instead of being the redeemer of his wife, the first Adam became her accuser.
In stark contrast to the first Adam, the last Adam (the Messsiah) succeeded in living a sinless life. He is our Kinsman-Redeemer (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8). The last Adam paid the penalty for our sin; for all who believe on his name. Messiah Yeshua is the head of God’s new creation order. Rabbi Yeshua (יוֹשִׁיעַ-the Salvation of God) died so that we his people might receive forgiveness of our sins and God’s gift of eternal life.
The Nation of Israel is elect and the international Body of Messiah is elect:
Esther represents the entire body of saved Israel and those who are counted among the Holy One’s elect messianic assembly (Synagogue). This elect assembly includes God’s Son Yeshua as the Head of the Assembly (Rosh Ha’edah) and all who believe in him, both Jew and Gentile. We die to our useless self-life (pride) that we might gain the treasured new life of God that comes through our exercising faith in His Messiah.
This final solution to chametz first began to take place by HaDavar (הַדָּבָר-The Word) and the Memra (ma’amar-מַאֲמָר) taking on human form and appearing to our people of Israel. A moment before this happened The Word said from heaven these words:
אָז אָמַרְתִּי הִנֵּה־בָאתִי בִּמְגִלַּת־סֵפֶר כָּתוּב עָלַי לַעֲשׂוֹת רְצוֹנְךָ אֱלׂהָי׃
“Lo, I come in the volume of the book it is written of me to do your will Elohai.”
Here in Psalm 40 the Spirit of Messiah is prophetically bearing witness to the Messiah. The Ruach Ha-Chokmah (Spirit of Wisdom) is revealing to us through Messiah’s royal ancestor the Prophet-King David that the mystery of his priestly ministry.
[Note in the ancient Syriac version Psalm 40 begins by referring to the 24 divisions of the priests: “A psalm of David according to the letter, when Shemaiah brought the names of those who minister in the house of God.”]
In his priestly ministry Yeshua (יֵשׁ֙וּעַ֙-the Salvation of God) the ninth course came following (אֲבִיָּה-God is My Father) following the eighth course to sacrifice his life as a once-in-eternity sacrifice for sin and as a means to cause God’s righteous life to rule within, through and upon His redeemed people.
This has and will continue to come about by our believing in the redemptive sacrifice of the Messiah of God and our accepting the gift of the Father—the Indwelling Presence of His Spirit (שְׁכַנְיָה-*Shechaniah, God Indwells). This means HaShem (יָהּ) has taken-up His dwelling (שָׁכַן-shakan) in His Messiah (the Vine of Israel) and in those of us who are his followers; the branches of Israel.
*Shechaniah is found in the tenth course of the 24 divisions of priests who are a prophetic witness to the Messiah Yeshua. Note the three-fold prophetic sequence of courses eight through ten:
Prophecy #1. First comes the testimony of the forerunner, the (first) Elijah to come, Yochanan ben Zecharyah: *Aviyah, “Adonai is My Father.”
Prophecy #2. Second we see the actual testimony of the name of the Messiah our Redeemer: Yeshua: the Salvation of Adonai.
Prophecy #3. Third we see the Gift of the Indwelling Presence of the Spirit who follows the redemption of our Messiah (on Shavuot): Shechaniah: “Adonai has Taken-up His Dwelling.”
Therefore, the eighth course of Aviyah (אֲבִיָּה-“Adonai is My Father”) is the division of the priest Zecharyah who is the father of the first forerunner of the Messiah. The forerunner of the Messiah ben Yosef, the Suffering Messiah, is the first Elijah to come. There will be a second Elijah to come who will appear in Israel just before the return of the Messiah ben David (the Conquering Messiah) to Israel. This three-fold prophetic sequence means:
Point #1. After we have exercised faith in our redeemer the Messiah and been cleansed of our sin then it is the Spirit of the Holy One who shall change us from the Inside-out even up until the day of our resurrection; when we shall all become perfect even as our Father in heaven is perfect.
Point #2. On resurrection day we will all become tzaddikim (righteous ones) even as Messiah is the Righteous One and HaShem is our Righteous Father (אָבִי הַצַּדִּיק). In that yet future age of perfect unity all lawlessness will come to a permanent end. This is the outcome that our Righteous Father desires most:
Sin will never come into existence again and we shall become God’s permanent dwelling of righteousness (אֲשֶׁר צֶדֶק יִשְׁכֺּן בָּם).
Point #3. Therefore, God’s New Creation will only be a dwelling of pure righteousness and in such a place (state of being) the need for sacrifices for sin will cease to exist. For this redemptive purpose Messiah came, so it is written:
כִּי כַּאֲשֶׁר הָיָה יוֹנָה בִּמְעֵי הַדָּג שְׁלֹשָׁה יָמִים וּשְׁלֹשָׁה לֵילוֹת כֵּן יִהְיֶה בֶן־הָאָדָם בְּלֵב הָאֲדָמָה שְׁלֹשָׁה יָמִים וּשְׁלֹשָׁה לֵילוֹת׃
“For just as Yonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and nights, so to the Son of Man will be in the heart of the ground for three days and nights.”
Rabbi Yeshua was crucified on the 14th of Nisan. This is the same day Esther fasted death to herself.
Three nights and three days later, on the 17th of Nisan, in communion with the heavenly Father, Yeshua is seen triumphant over the evil one. It is through the Messiah Yeshua’s sacrificial death and triumphant resurrection that all his followers (Esther-Hadassah) are able to receive eternal life through the gift of the Holy Spirit given to us by our heavenly Father on Shavuot.
Three nights and three days after the 14th of Nisan, on the 17th of Nisan, in communion with Ahasuerus (the Lion King)—a prophetic type of God’s sovereign providence—Esther and the complete assembled body of God’s elect Israel triumphed over Haman and thereafter were granted an irreversible Decree of Life that was capable of destroying the rule, authority, and power of Haman’s Decree of Death.
Almighty God’s Sovereign Grace:
The Lion King (Ahasuerus) is a picture of the universal sovereignty of Almighty God. He has decreed from heaven that only judgment will be awarded to those who live according to the Law (pride, self-justification). However, to those of us who put our faith in His Messiah, God gives to us the gift of His grace which is eternal life. Four points:
Point #1. The Messiah Eved HaKadosh (the Holy Servant) has sanctified himself—drank the cup of sanctification—according to the Word of God for our sake—to perfectly fulfill all of the will of God.
Point #2. The Messiah our Korban Pesach has consumed to the full our judgment. His drinking this cup of affliction, suffering, judgment has allowed all of us to drink the cup of redemption that delivers us from the bondage of sin and death.
Point #3. When we drink this cup of our redemption we proclaim Messiah’s death until He comes; until He returns to Israel a second time.
Point #4. Finally, when the Messiah returns to Israel he will joyously drink with us the cup of restoration; and this cup of joy will be to us a cup of unending Hallel (praise to God).
When the Lion King cleansed the ruling house in his kingdom he got rid of the household of Haman that represents the rule of a prideful self-life and the evil impulse (יצר הרע) which gives place to Abaddon, the Destroyer (אֲבַדּוֹן). Thereafter, the Lion King immediately refilled his royal house with the righteous *Administration of Mordecai:
*The Ministry of the Spirit of Life
What changed in the rule of the international kingdom was the Administrator.
The first Administration was ruled by wicked Haman. The second Administration was ruled by Mordecai. Therefore by the sovereign grace of God the administration of the (international) kingdom went from being dominated by evil to being ruled over by righteousness:
What our heavenly Father plans to do is replace the rule of the evil one with the rule of His Righteous One!
Therefore, our heavenly Father will accomplish this replacement of the wicked international rule with His righteous international rule. He will do this through His establishing (יָכִין-yakin) by His own strength (בֹּעַז-boaz) His Administration of Mordecai—the permanent Ministry of the Holy Spirit here on the earth!
