The Forty-eighth Miracle of Messiah:
Markos 16:14-16
וּבָאַחֲרֹנָה נִרְאָה לְעַשְׁתֵּי הֶעָשָׂר בִּהְיוֹתָם מְסֻבִּים לֶאֱכֹל וַיְחָרֵף חֶסְרוֹן אֱמוּנָתָם וּקְשִׁי לְבָבָם אֲשֶׁר לֹא־הֶאֱמִינוּ לְרֹאָיו וְהוּא נֵעוֹר מִן־הַמֵּתִים׃ וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם לְכוּ אֶל־כָּל־הָעוֹלָם וְקִרְאוּ אֶת־הַבְּשׂוֹרָה לְכָל־הַבְּרִיאָה׃ הַמַּאֲמִין וְנִטְבָּל הוּא יִוָּשֵׁעַ וַאֲשֶׁר לֹא־יַאֲמִין יֶאְשָׁם׃
אַחַר כָּךְ נִרְאָה אֶל הָאַחַד־עָשָׂר בִּהְיוֹתָם מְסֻבִּים לֶאֱכֹל. הוּא גָּעַר בָּהֶם עַל חֹסֶר אֱמוּנָתָם וְקֵהוּת לְבָבָם, מִפְּנֵי שֶׁלֹּא הֶאֱמִינוּ לְאֵלֶּה שֶׁרָאוּ אוֹתוֹ אַחֲרֵי קוּמוֹ לִתְחִיָּה. אָמַר לָהֶם: “לְכוּ אֶל כָּל הָעוֹלָם וְהַכְרִיזוּ אֶת הַבְּשׂוֹרָה לְכָל הַבְּרִיאָה. הַמַּאֲמִין וְנִטְבָּל יִוָּשַׁע, וּמִי שֶׁלֹּא יַאֲמִין יֶאְשַׁם.פ
Finally he (the resurrected Messiah) appeared to the Eleven as they were reclining to eat. He reproached (rebuked) their lack of faith and the dullness of their hearts, because they did not believe those who saw him after he had been resurrected. He said to them, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the besorah (הבריאה-good news) to every person. One who believes and is immersed will be saved (יושע), but whoever does not believe shall be guilty (יאשם).”
Yochanan 20:24-31
וְתוֹמָא אֶחָד מִשְּׁנֵים הֶעָשָׂר הַנִּקְרָא דִידוּמוֹס לֹא־הָיָה בְתוֹכָם כְּבוֹא יֵשׁוּעַ׃ וַיַּגִּידוּ לוֹ הַתַּלְמִידִים הַנִּשְׁאָרִים לֵאמֹר רָאֹה רָאִינוּ אֶת־הָאָדוֹן וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם אִם־לֹא אֶרְאֶה בְיָדָיו אֶת־רשֶׁם הַמַּסְמְרוֹת וְאָשִׂים אֶת־אֶצְבָּעִי בִּמְקוֹם הַמַּסְמְרוֹת וְאָשִׂים אֶת־יָדִי בְּצִדּוֹ לֹא אַאֲמִין׃ וַיְהִי מִקְצֵה שְׁמוֹנַת יָמִים וְתַלְמִידָיו שֵׁנִית בַּבַּיִת וְתוֹמָא עִמָּהֶם וַיָּבֹא יֵשׁוּעַ וְהַדְּלָתוֹת מְסֻגָּרוֹת וַיַּעֲמֹד בֵּינֵיהֶם וַיֹּאמֶר שָׁלוֹם לָכֶם׃ וְאַחַר אָמַר אֶל־תּוֹמָא שְׁלַח אֶצְבָּעֲךָ הֵנָּה וּרְאֵה אֶת־יָדַי וּשְׁלַח אֶת־יָדְךָ הֵנָּה וְשִׂים בְּצִדִּי וְאַל־תְּהִי מְחֻסַּר אֱמוּנָה כִּי אִם־מַאֲמִין׃ וַיַּעַן תּוֹמָא וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו אֲדֹנִי וֵאלֹהָי׃ וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו יֵשׁוּעַ יַעַן רָאִיתָ אֹתִי הֶאֱמָנְתָּ אַשְׁרֵי הַמַּאֲמִינִים וְאֵינָם רֹאִים׃
תֹּאמָא, אֶחָד מֵהַשְּׁנֵים־עָשָׂר הַנִּקְרָא דִּידִימוֹס, לֹא הָיָה אִתָּם כַּאֲשֶׁר בָּא יֵשׁוּעַ. אָמְרוּ לוֹ יֶתֶר הַתַּלְמִידִים: “רָאִינוּ אֶת הָאָדוֹן.” הֵשִׁיב לָהֶם: “אִם לֹא אֶרְאֶה אֶת סִימַן הַמַּסְמְרִים בְּיָדָיו וְלֹא אָשִׂים אֶת אֶצְבָּעִי בַּמָּקוֹם שֶׁהָיוּ הַמַּסְמְרִים וְלֹא אָשִׂים אֶת יָדִי בְּצִדּוֹ, לֹא אַאֲמִין.” אַחֲרֵי שְׁמוֹנָה יָמִים שׁוּב הָיוּ הַתַּלְמִידִים בַּבַּיִת וְתֹאמָא אִתָּם. כַּאֲשֶׁר הָיוּ הַדְּלָתוֹת סְגוּרוֹת בָּא יֵשׁוּעַ, עָמַד בֵּינֵיהֶם וְאָמַר: “שָׁלוֹם לָכֶם.” אָז אָמַר לְתֹאמָא: “הָבֵא אֶת אֶצְבָּעֲךָ הֵנָּה וּרְאֵה אֶת יָדַי; הוֹשֵׁט אֶת יָדְךָ וְשִׂים אוֹתָהּ בְּצִדִּי, וְאַל תְּהֵא חֲסַר אֱמוּנָה, אֶלָּא מַאֲמִין.” הֵשִׁיב תֹּאמָא וְאָמַר לוֹ: “אֲדוֹנִי וֵאלֹהַי!” אָמַר לוֹ יֵשׁוּעַ: “מִפְּנֵי שֶׁרָאִיתָ אוֹתִי הֶאֱמַנְתָּ. אַשְׁרֵי אֵלֶּה שֶׁאֵינָם רוֹאִים וְעִם זֹאת מַאֲמִינִים.” פ
Toma (Thomas) who is called Didimos (meaning “Twin”), one of the Twelve, had not been in their midst when Yeshua came. The rest of the talmidim told him about it, saying, “We have seen the Master (HaAdon).” He said to them, “If I do not see the wound marks of the nails, and put my hands on his side, I will not believe.” At the end of eight days, when the talmidim were in the house a second time and Toma was with them, Yeshua entered, and yet the doors were closed. He stood among them and said, “Shalom to you.” After that, he said to Toma, “Extend your finger here and look at my hands. Reach your hand here and place it on my side. Do not let your faith be lacking, but rather believe.” Toma answered and said to him, “My master and my *God!” Yeshua said to him, “Because you have seen me you have believed. Blessed (אַשְׁרֵי-ashrei) are those who do not see and yet believe!”
*Study Psalm 110:1 to see the scriptural distinction between the man adoni (אדֹנִ֗י-my lord) and the Indwelling Presence of THE LORD (אלֹהַי-my God: ה’ , ADONAI, YHWH) Who Indwells the man (Rabbeinu Yeshua). The same distinction can be made in discerning the difference between the place names: Bethel (בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל-man) and EL-Bethel (הָאֵל֙ בֵּֽית־אֵ֔ל-The God who Indwells man).
וְהִנֵּה גַּם־אֹתוֹת אֲחֵרִים רַבִּים עָשָׂה יֵשׁוּעַ לְעֵינֵי תַלְמִידָיו אֲשֶׁר לֹא־נִכְתְּבוּ בַּסֵּפֶר הַזֶּה׃ וְאֵלֶּה נִכְתְּבוּ לְמַעַן תַּאֲמִינוּ כִּי יֵשׁוּעַ הוּא הַמָּשִׁיחַ בֶּן־אֱלֹהִים וּלְמַעַן יִהְיוּ לָכֶם חַיִּים בִּשְׁמוֹ בֶּאֱמוּנַתְכֶם׃
גַּם אוֹתוֹת רַבִּים אֲחֵרִים עָשָׂה יֵשׁוּעַ לְעֵינֵי תַּלְמִידָיו, אֲשֶׁר לֹא נִכְתְּבוּ בַּסֵּפֶר הַזֶּה. אֲבָל אֵלֶּה נִכְתְּבוּ כְּדֵי שֶׁתַּאֲמִינוּ כִּי יֵשׁוּעַ הוּא הַמָּשִׁיחַ בֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִים, וּכְדֵי שֶׁבְּהַאֲמִינְכֶם יִהְיוּ לָכֶם חַיִּים בִּשְׁמוֹ. פ
Indeed, Yeshua performed many other signs (אוֹתוֹת) in the eyes of his talmidim that were not written in this book (סֵפֶר-sefer). Yet these were written so that you would believe that Yeshua is the Mashiach ben Ha-Elohim (בֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִים), so that in your faith you would have life (חַיִּים) in his name.
During his second miraculous entry into a locked room the Messiah reveals the wounds in his hands and his side to Toma (Thomas).
The Event Breakdown:
The Setup: One week after the resurrection, the disciples gathered again inside a room with locked doors. This time, Thomas was present with them.
The Miraculous Entry: Eight days after his initial appearance to the talmidim, despite the locked doors, Yeshua suddenly appeared, stood among them, and gave his standard greeting: “Peace be with you!”
Thomas’s Doubt: Thomas was not present for the Messiah Yeshua’s first appearance. When the others told him they had seen the Master, Thomas refused to believe unless he could see the nail marks in Yeshua’s hands and touch the wound in His side.
The Revelation to Thomas: The Messiah immediately addressed Thomas’s prior skepticism. He invited Thomas to look at the nail marks in his hands and to reach out his hand and put it into his pierced side. He commanded Thomas to “Stop doubting and believe.”
Thomas’s Response:
Upon seeing the wounds, Thomas skipped the physical verification entirely and immediately confessed his faith, declaring, “My Master and my God!”
