  1. Today is Day #19
  2. The Nineteenth Mashal of Messiah
  3. Five Observations
  4. Interpretation of the “Owner of the House”- 3 Directives
  5. Closing Summay

Today is Day #19:

1. Today is “Day #19” in the forty-nine day Countdown to Shavuot.

2. Today is Nineteen days in the Omer.

Today is nineteen days which are two weeks and five days in the Omer.

היום תשעה עשר יום, שהם שני שבועות וחמישה ימים בעומר.פ

Haiyom tish’ah asar yom, shehaym shnay shavuot vechamishah yamim ba’omer.

“You shall count for yourselves — from the day after the Shabbat, from the day when you bring the Omer of the waving — seven Shabbats, they shall be complete. Until the day after the seventh sabbath you shall count, fifty days.” (Leviticus). “You shall count for yourselves seven weeks, from when the sickle is first put to the standing crop shall you begin counting seven weeks. Then you will observe the Festival of Shavu’ot for Adonai Eloheinu.” (Deuteronomy).

“Blessed are You, Adonai Eloheinu, King of the universe, Who sanctified us with Your commandments and commanded us to count the Omer.”

The Nineteenth Mashal of Messiah:

[Mattai 13:52] He (the Messiah) said to them, “Therefore every scholar (סוֹפֵר-scribe) who is educated in the kingdom of Heaven can be compared to the owner of a house who brings out new things as well as old from his treasury.”

Five Observations:

Observation #1.  This final Eighth kingdom of Heaven mashal is an integration of all the other seven kingdom of Heaven meshalim (parables).

Observation #2.  Having spoken of the Fish Net and the “End of the Age,” HaMashiach (the Anointed One) turns to his talmadin and asks them if they had understood all of the revelatory (sod-secret) material that he had been teaching them thus far.

Observation #3.  Amazingly, they replied, “Yes” (כן). It is rather obvious that they did not understand the Messiah. Their understanding of the meshalim would have truly required a word of wisdom (דבר חכמה) that they did not possess until after they received the (illuminating) Gift of the Indwelling Presence of the Spirit of the Holy One after Messiah’s *ascension into heaven.

*On the 40th day of the Counting of the Omer.

Observation #4.  At this time the disciples (students, followers) of Messiah did not understand that there would be a rather lengthy age between the advent of the Suffering Messiah ben Yosef (the Kingdom of heaven) and the culminating advent of the Conquering Messiah ben David (the Kingdom of Adonai).

Observation #5.  The Master did not challenge his disciples’ immaturity and false self-confidence but instead told them that if they remained truly faithful in studying and applying the truths he was teaching them, they would learn to bring out of the treasure house of God’s truth – both “new” things (d’varim) as well as old from his treasury.

Interpretation of the “Owner of the House”- 3 Directives:

The Messiah is saying to his Jewish disciples, “I have revealed the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven to you but I have not done this principally for your benefit alone. I entrusted you with these supernatural truths so you could pass them on to others.” The Messiah’s direction to his Jewish followers is threefold:

Directive #1.  The Jewish talmidin of Messiah are commanded to be as diligent as a scribe (scholar) in insuring that God’s treasures (the d’varim of HaShem: new and old) are drawn out from the heavenly storehouse and flawlessly transmitted to their fellow Jews and thereafter out to all of the nations, peoples, and families of the world.

Directive #2.  Therefore, unlike the scribes of the first century (CE), the Jewish talmidin of Messiah would be drawing out of the treasury storehouse of heaven the new revelation of HaBrit HaChadashah (הברית החדשה). Also, this supernatural revelation of God would not just be distributed to the people of Israel; it would also be communicated to all of the gentile nations, peoples, and families of the world.

Directive #3.  When the Jewish talmidin of Messiah imparted the treasures of God to the people of Israel (and later to the Gentiles) they were directed to remember to *tether all of the new treasures of the revelation of God to the old treasures of the Nevi’im (the Prophets of Israel).

*The revelation of the Tanakh came first; and the latter revelation of the Brit HaChadashah was built upon the Tanakh. The mysteries of God that are concealed in the Tanakh are revealed in the Brit HaChadashah. The writers who the God of Israel used to impart His revelation to all of the world were all Yehudim (Jews). All of God’s treasure, His treasured d’varim (words) old and new have been entrusted to us (Jews-1, 2, 3, 4). For we are His children, His chosen family (firstborn nation) of Israel.

So, we Yehudim are responsible for being wise stewards of Adonai (our Father’s) revelation; and we (Israel) are required to effectively distribute His heavenly knowledge and wisdom to all of the people of Israel; and thereafter, to all of the nations, peoples, and families of the world.

This third and final directive requires that whenever the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven are taught in Israel or in the gentile world this revelation must always be sourced—rooted and grounded (שורשים ומייסדים-literally “roots and founders”) in the Torah (five books of Moses), Nevi’im (the Prophets), and Ketuvim (the Writings)—the (supernatural) God-breathed (word-by word – Divinely inspired) writings of the Jewish Scriptures (the Tanakh). In this way the Jewish and gentile hearers will clearly understand that what is concealed as ‘mysteries’ in the Tanakh (the old treasures) is revealed in the Brit HaChadashah (new treasures).

This mashal of Messiah is a prophecy that his Jewish disciples (a remnant of Israel) would be sent out by the Spirit of the Holy One to make disciples of all the nations of the world.

Closing Summary:

Ten days after the Messiah ascended into heaven on the 40th day of the Counting of the Omer, his first century (CE) Jewish shlicihim (sent ones, emissaries) were filled with the Indwelling Presence of the Spirit of the Holy One on Shavuot (the 50th day). By the (inerrant) inspiration of the Holy Spirit these Jewish men wrote an additional set of new Scriptures (Oral Law) that was grounded and sourced in the Tanakh. This new set of Scriptures included the Old Treasure (the Tanakh) and the New TreasureHaBrit HaChadashah: הברית החדשה.

Therefore, just as our Messiah prophesied during the era of the Kingdom of heaven (the last 2,000 years) the House(hold) of God has undergone further construction so that the national and international prophetic works of the Salvation of Adonai that began in the Tanakh might be completed (fulfilled) in the prophetic teachings of our Messiah (1, 2, 3, 4) and his Jewish disciples in the Brit HaChadashah. This means:

The new House of God is more spacious than the old; and there is now more treasure in the House of God.

The Holy One has added New Treasure to His House. This New Treasure is not limited to just His Word.  Our God has brought into His Household many believing persons. In addition to His people of Israel, Adonai Avinu is accepting into His family all who will believe in The Besorah (Good News) of His Divine Redemption.

This means: there has been and will continue to be many Gentiles who will be adopted into our heavenly Father’s family. This is so because Avinu Shebashamayim desires to be more than just our (Israel’s) Father. He very much desires to be HaAv v’Elohim-kholim—-Father and God of All (האב ואלוהים של כולם) the nations, families, and peoples of the world!

This means that one day (we pray very soon) the Gentiles will no longer be strangers to us – the House of Israel. By their repentance and voluntary profession of faith in Adonai Eloheinu they shall all be considered by Adonai (the LORD) as fellow citizens ‘with us’ (Israel) in the kingdom of Heaven and after the Messiah returns to us—-in the kingdom of Adonai (our Father and our God).

This means as with us Jews the souls of the gentile converts must be built upon the sure foundation of the prophets and the Jewish shlichim of the God of Israel (הנביאים והשליחים של אלוהי ישראל), with the Messiah of Adonai being the Cornerstone (אבן הפינה).

Therefore it is upon this great foundation that the whole building (the Commonwealth of Israel) is being fit together, which is growing into a holy Temple for Adonai Avinu (our Father), in whose Spirit (both) we believing Jews and Gentiles (together) are being built into an eternal dwelling of God in the Spirit (משוכן אלוהים על ידי הרוח).
