Messiah sacrificed his life in the place of His Bride:

Our rebirth comes at the expense of Messiah Yeshua’s life being poured out on the accursed oak tree. As a substitute for Rachel, the Lamb of Elohim was sheared of His eternal “coat of glory.” Rachel (רָחֵל) in Hebrew means “Ewe Lamb.” Rachel is the mother of Joseph (whose name means “Add”). Rachel died giving birth to her second son Benjamin, whose name means Son of My Right Hand. After Adam’s sin heaven was barren of children. The sin of Adam resulted in Adam’s being alienated from the heavenly Father and death entered the life of Adam and the race of Adam. The reproach of heaven (the Jerusalem above) was that until atonement was made for sin there would be no sons of glory from the race of fallen Adam.. Therefore, without the atonement no one born from the race of Adam would ever be capable of being reborn from above. Tragically, this means no human being would ever be reborn out of this earthly creation into the eternal one. Man temporarily lost his moral perfection and His Divine inheritance of immortality.

When the Spirit of Adonai came to earth in the form of the Messiah Ben Ha-Elohim, cloaked in human form, He took away heaven’s barrenness by making it possible for many sons of glory to be born from above (to become the Son of Adonai’s Right Hand). The Spirit of Adonai is “omnipresent.” The Omnipresent One can be at one Place and every other Place at the same time. He is not limited in any way by space, time, matter, and energy. Therefore, all of the Divine Presence of the Holy One can dwell in the Place of heaven and all of the Divine Presence of the Holy One can dwell in His Son (the Salvation of Adonai) simultaneously. Such a fact is now understood by people of science; as well as people of faith. Messiah’s visitation to earth and saving ministry will ultimately add many immortal children (sons of glory) to Abba our Father’s righteous family (cf. Isaiah 8:18; 53:10).

Behold, I and the children whom Adonai has given Me (Mashiach) are for signs and wonders in Israel, from Adonai Tseva’ot, who dwells on Mount Zion.

But Adonai was pleased to crush Him (Mashiach), putting Him to grief; if He would render Himself as a guilt offering. He will see His children, He will prolong His days, and the good pleasure of Adonai will prosper in His Hand.”

Messiah set aside his Coat of Glory to deliver us from evil:

נִגַּשׂ וְהוּא נַעֲנֶה וְלֹא יִפְתַּח־פִּיו כַּשֶּׂה לַטֶּבַח יוּבָל וּכְרָחֵל לִפְנֵי גֹזְזֶיהָ נֶאֱלָמָה וְלֹא יִפְתַּח פִּֽיו׃

“He [Messiah] was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; like a lamb (seh-שֶׂה) that is led to slaughter, and like a Ewe Lamb (Rachel-רָחֵל) that is silent before its (her) shearers, so He [the Suffering Messiah] did not open His mouth” (Isaiah 53:7):

Question #1:  Why is the sheep that is sheered depicted as a rachel (רָחֵל-a ewe lamb)?
Answer:  Messiah is depicted as a ewe lamb because He had to “die” in our place.

Question #2:  Why is the Messiah silent before His shearers?
Answer:  He is silent (אָלַם-put to silence, bound) because all humankind is guilty of sin.

There is no defense. We are all guilty as charged. Hence the Innocent One stands silent on our behalf before the charges that are made against us. Messiah was offered up as a living sacrifice for our salvation. His coat of glory was sheared off of Him. He set aside His Divine glory to pay the penalty for our sin. Therefore, there are at least five points of light that are in view here:

Point #1.  The Messiah chose to die like a loving mother who was willing to sacrifice her life to secure for her unborn infant a safe birth (as Rachel did for her son Benyamin).

Point #2.  The Messiah gladly died a tormenting death to guarantee that all of His followers (Hebrew and Gentile; past, present, and future) were “reborn from above.”

Point #3.  The Holy Spirit is the One who assists the Messiah in administering new life to a fallen humanity.

Point #4.  The Holy Spirit assists the delivery of those who are born from above like a midwife (Genesis 35:16-19).

Point #5.  The Holy Spirit is the One who must convince Adonai’s elect people Israel to put their complete trust in Rabbi Yeshua (the Salvation of Adonai) and receive forgiveness for their sins and eternal life (rebirth).

The Holy Spirit is the Evangelist of us all!

This is the cleansing work of the besorah (lit. Good News, Glad Tidings) of the Messiah Yeshua. The Ruach is the One true Evangelist of us all. He teaches us the Law (the Torah of Moses) sufficient to convince us we all have need of the Messiah to delivers us from all our sins. The Ruach introduces us to the testimony of Adonai’s Grace. He does this so that we might believe in the Salvation of Adonai (Yeshua) and be delivered from the law of sin and death.

This is the Rebirth in Water.

It is forgiveness and cleansing of sin. This occurs when a person repents of their sin (does Teshuvah) and believes in the Besorah of Adonai’s Endowment of Grace. The Rebirth in the Spirit is the regenerating work of hearing and believing Adonai’s Word. Once one is reborn from above the Holy Spirit permanently indwells the believer, sealing him for (cf. Ezekiel 45:18-25):

Sealing #1.  Deliverance (Forgiveness of sin),
Sealing #2.  Sanctification (Growth in Messiah).
Sealing #3.  Glorification (Perfection in Messiah).

The citizen registry at the Inspection Gate:

This is all the work of the Holy Spirit. No man can claim credit for it. Rebirth by the Water and the Spirit is solely a work of Adonai’s compassion, grace and mercy. The Righteous Father is under no obligation to save any man. Only it is Adonai’s will to do so because He loves humankind.

The rebirth of the Water and the Spirit bestows on the Jewish believer the right of eternal citizenship in the kingdom of Avinu Shebashamayim.

The Holy Spirit confers upon every new believer enrollment as a citizen in the kingdom of Adonai. During the days of Ezra and Nehemiah in Jerusalem there existed a gate called the Inspection Gate (Miphkad). At this Gate and in the Temple there existed a registry of every person who was enrolled and counted as a citizen of the city of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 3:31; 7:5).

Similarly, every new believer is enrolled in a citizen registry. However, these persons, who are born of the Water and the Spirit are registered as citizens of the heavenly Jerusalem, a right acquired only by spiritual rebirth and not by physical birth alone. These fortunate persons are Born from Above and are citizens from above. Their citizenship is anchored in an exceedingly greater privilege and rests upon a far higher authority than any citizenship that presently exists on earth; even citizenship in the earthly Jerusalem, a privilege belonging to only those who are of Jewish physical birth (the physical lineage of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob).

Those who are born by the Water and the Spirit are guaranteed eternal life.

Those who are born as physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob possess no such guarantee; solely by our physical birth alone. To inherit the spiritual gift of eternal life even the elect children of Israel must do as father Abraham, they must exercise faith in the Word of Adonai. We just read in the previous chapter of this document that a ruler of Israel, Nicodemus, did not yet understand these things. Hence he (even as a Hebrew of Hebrews) had to ask the Messiah Yeshua (the legitimate Rabban, the true everlasting President, and Chief Rabbi of the Sanhedrin):

“How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter into his mother’s womb and be reborn can he?” The Salvation of Adonai (Messiah) Yeshua answered, “Amen, amen (אָמֵן אָמֵן), I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he can’t enter into the Kingdom of Adonai.”

Man is the recipient of the rebirth, not the originator of it:

The verb born used in this excerpt of the Proceedings of the Heavenly Court is in the passive voice. Therefore, the miraculous supernatural rebirth the Messiah is referring to is solely the work of Adonai “upon” Man, “in” Man, and “through” Man (i.e. a Divine transformation of redeemed humanity’s entire being). Adonai is the sole active agent in this process of rebirth from above. Adonai initiates. Man responds. Man is the recipient of Adonai’s rebirth, not the originator of it. The cleansing Water is the Word of Adonai (the D’var HaShem). The Word of Adonai acts like the water in the amniotic fluid (water) of the womb. Amniotic fluid is the watery liquid that surrounds and cushions a growing infant in the mother’s womb. The heavenly “Water of the Word” is the supernatural medium that facilitates a newly conceived believer’s maturation. This medium supplies the newly conceived (reborn) one with the grace to move about freely in the womb of God’s being.

Life in the disposable (temporal) creation’s womb:

When this old creation (the physical womb, made out of physical matter; not to be confused with the Eternal Womb; made out of Divine Consciousness) has fulfilled its purpose in playing host to the Eternal One’s children and serving our material developmental needs leading up to our epic transformation into sons of glory, then the amniotic sac (placenta of the old creation) will be needed no more. The old creation will have then become used up and will be disposed of. Thereafter, the Father of Glory’s (Avi HaKavod’s) sons in glory will step into a new heaven and earth. All things will become perfectly New! The Water (which is symbolic of the Presence of the Holy One in the Womb of Eternity) of the Divine Parent allows the baby (redeemed humanity) to move about freely and be cushioned so that the Little One is not harmed within the walls of the Parent’s body. Like the development of a baby in his mother’s womb:  So we are being brought to full term in our physical and conscious existence in this temporal (temporary universe), so that we might physically and spiritually be (delivered) born into the perfect-eternal existence (of a different kind) of the new heavens and a new earth that will be incorruptible and never pass away. To continue the illustration: The temporary sac that holds the buoyant protected baby (the amnion) grows and begins to fill, mainly with water, around two weeks after fertilization. Ten weeks later the liquid contains proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and phospholipids, urea and electrolytes. These aid the growth of the baby. In the late stages of the baby’s development (gestation) much of the amniotic fluid consists of fetal urine. Therefore:

The old worn-out creation is about to be replaced:

After forty-weeks (the number used to indicate spiritual testing in the Tanakh) the temporary shelter of the infant becomes no more than a discarded wastebasket. In the womb of this temporary creation, destined to pass away, the Holy Spirit uses the efficacy of His Word (His Eternal Divine Consciousness, not man’s) to conceive, nurture, cleanse, form, perfect and ultimately glorify His children (His Little Ones). The believer is conceived, formed, cleansed, born, perfected, and eternally nourished by the Water of Life, the Word of Adonai!

One who is born from flesh is flesh, and one who is born from the Ruach is ruach.

The word used for flesh here is generally used to refer to the physical construction of our human bodies. This word can also be used to convey the fallen nature of man (the evil impulse; the yetzer ha-ra) acquired when the first Adam brought sin into the world. Both meanings are in view here. As soon as the Holy Spirit has used the old dying, decaying creation up to fulfill His noble purposes it will pass away. This will occur when the Righteous Father’s glorified sons are birthed into a new perfect domain. It is at this future monumental moment in time that Messiah declares, “See I have made all things New!”

And I heard a loud voice [Teruah] from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of the Almighty is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and the Almighty One Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away!”

And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Aleph (הָאָלֶף) and the Tav (הַתָּו), the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost ( (the Eternal Life of the Spirit) ). He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his Almighty One and he will be My Son.

The Creator’s Final Solution:

The human physical body although marvelous in construction is temporal. It dies. Furthermore, the human body houses a fallen nature that is in rebellion to the Spirit of the Holy One. It will be judged. The Father of Eternity did not create the human race with the intent that man would die or be judged. The federal head of humanity Adam brought these consequences upon himself and his descendants. Rabbi Yeshua, however, is the new righteous sinless Adam. The Messiah is the federal head of a new humanity. His solution is to cleanse humanity of sin and transform mankind into a new sinless creation by the re-birthing power of the Holy Spirit. This rebirth is possible because the Messiah has atoned for man’s sin on the accursed tree and has forensically reconciled man to His Creator. This purifying work qualifies every believing person to be reborn by the Holy Spirit.

Do not be amazed by My saying to you, “You must be born from above!”

The Solution from above, from a Higher Place:

The phrase often translated “born again” actually means “born from above.”

This means we all must be born “above from a higher place.” This term conveys the meaning of those things that come from heaven and from our Father who dwells in heaven. Nicodemus should have realized Messiah was referring to a rebirth that comes from heaven. The right train of thought would have been for Nicodemus to wonder: “How does one receive the rebirth that comes from heaven?”

The Ruach blows wherever it desires, and you hear its sound (voice), but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with all who are born from the Ruach.

Adonai dwells in eternity He is without beginning or end:

The Wind the Messiah is speaking of is the Spirit of Adonai. He is Immutable. He is Unchanging. The Spirit of Adonai exists as a sovereign, independent, All-powerful, Free Agent (He is immutable). He is free to do with creation whatever He desires. He is free to impact people’s lives as He wishes. The Holy Spirit or Spirit of Holiness is also “Ineffable” (beyond our description or understanding). No created being may ever completely comprehend all of the Spirit of the Holy One’s thoughts or ways. No one understands the origin of Adonai (lit. the One Who was, Who is, Who Always will be, eternal, never changing).

The God of the Beginning possesses a wonderful Life of His own of a different kind.

Our heavenly Father has no beginning. He has no end. No one comprehends the Mind of Adonai. For Adonai’s existence, ways, and works are beyond our understanding. His works are without end. Like the Wind, the Works of the Spirit of the Holy One are a Mystery to everyone but Himself. In Hebrew, ruach, the word for wind is used for spirit. In all three scriptural languages (Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic) the word wind is an excellent illustration of the rebirth that comes from heaven. The regenerating work of the Holy Spirit is the wind (or Breath of Elohim). The word used to describe the movement of the wind is the word “breathing.” The Wind therefore reminds us of when Elohim (the Powerful One, the Almighty) breathed the wonderful Life of His Spirit into Adam and made him a living soul (nephesh). The Holy Spirit is the One who administers (mid-wifes) humanity’s rebirth when He breathes, for the “second time,” new life into fallen Man who is saved from the “Decree of Death” (Exodus 1:15-21):

Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah (שִׁפְרָה-from brightness, beauty) and the other was named Puah (פּוּעָה-excellence, resplendent, sparkling light); and he said, “When you are helping the Hebrew women to give birth and see them upon the birthstool, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.” But the midwives feared (reverenced) the Almighty, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but let the infant sons live. So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, “Why have you done this thing, and let the male children live?” The midwives said to Pharaoh, “Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are vigorous and give birth before the midwife can get to them.” So the Almighty One was good to the midwives, and the people multiplied, and became very numerous (mighty). Because the midwives feared the Almighty, He established households (families)  for them. Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, “Every son who is born you are to cast into the Nile, and every daughter you are to keep alive.”

Man was not made to be drowned in the false-material life, fallen animal consciousness of the world (the Nile).

Man was made to nobly rule over Adonai’s Creation as His Son, living in a new heaven and new earth; untainted in his Divinely appointed spiritual consciousness by sin and death.

The Face of God’s children will shine as brilliantly as the Sun:

The Ruach (Wind, Spirit) reminds us of the Indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirit that is destined to reside about and within all those who are bron from above. The Beloved Disciple’s testimony in this section of the Proceedings of the Heavenly Court testimony points to the time when man will be transformed from lowly, humble Barley Grain (cf. Messiah in HaBikkurim) to the resplendent, shimmering beauty of the glorified Golden Wheat (cf. Messiah in Shavuot). This cycle of Divinely appointed physical and spiritual transformation follows the pattern of Messiah who is the firstfruits of the Most High (the firstfruits of the new life “of a different kind”). The Holy One (cloaked in human form) is the firstfruits of a new humanity that is symbolized both in the Humble Barley Bread and in the Glorious Wheat Bread.

Messiah is the Lechem Shamayim (Bread of Heaven) and the Lechem Elohim (Bread of the Almighty One).

Prophetically, this harvest witness speaks of Adonai one day completely fulfilling His promise to ultimately perfect His children by making them become like His Beloved Son (Ben Yadid). As promised, Elohim our Creator will one day resurrect redeemed humanity making of them a nation of glorified kings and priests. What is sown in humility (identification with the death of the Messiah) will be reaped in honor (identification with His resurrection glory). On that day the face of Abba Father’s chosen people will shine like the brightness of the sun in all its strength, like the brilliance of the sun when it shines at its zenith, in all its glory in the “center” of the day.
