Mashal of the Assembly in Ephesus:

משל של הקהלת באפסוס

אל מלאך קהלת אפסוס כתב: את אלה הדברים אומר האוחז בימינו את שבעת הכוכבים, המתהלך בין שבע מנורות הזהב:  פ

To the Messenger of the Ephesus community write: These words are said by the one who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks among the seven golden lamps:

אני יודע את מעשיך ואת עמלך ואת סבלנותך ושאינך יכול לשאת אנשי רשע. בחנת את המכנים עצמם שליחים ואינם, ומצאת אותם כוזבים. יש לך סבלנות וסבלת בגלל שמי ולא עיפת. אבל יש לי טענה נגדך, כי עזבת את אהבתך הראשונה. לכן זכר מנין נפלת וחזר בתשובה ועשה את המעשים הראשונים; שאם לא כן, אבוא אליך ואסיר את מנורתך ממקומה – אם לא תחזר בשליחים. אך זאת לזכותך: אתה שונא את מעשי הניקולסים אשר גם אני שונא.  פ

I know your deeds, your hard work, your tolerance of suffering, and that you can not bear the people of evil. You have examined those who call themselves emissaries (שליחים–sent by God) and they are not, and found them false. You have patience and suffer because of My name, and you have not tired. But I have a claim against you, that you have forsaken your first love (אהבתך הראשונה). Therefore, remember where you fell, do teshuvah (תשובה-repent), and do the things you did at first; otherwise, I will come to you and remove your lamp from its place – if you do not repent (חזור לאהבתך הראשונה). But this is to your credit: You hate the deeds of the Nicolaites, which I also hate.

מי שאזן לו, ישמע נא מה שהרוח אומרת לקהלות. המנצח, אני אתן לו לאכל מעץ החיים אשר בגן אלוהים. פ

Whoever listens (מי שאזן לו-has an ear that hears) will hear, understand, and obey (שמע-shama) what the Spirit says to the assemblies. The victor, I will let him eat from the Tree of Life which is in the Garden of God.
