Nisan 17 in Israel’s history:
According to the Torah and traditional Jewish interpretation, other events that occurred on Nisan 17 (the Hidden Day of Messiah’s resurrection) include the following:
Nisan 17. Noah’s Flood ended when the ark touched down on land. The ark is a type of the Messiah and the new creation (1, 2).
Nisan 17. The new creation in Messiah began on the anniversary of the rebirth of the world when the ark rested on land.
Nisan 17. Israel crossed the Reed Sea (Yam Suf).
Nisan 17. On this date Israel no longer ate manna but ate of the firstfruits that “rose up” from the ground in the land of Israel.
Nisan 17. After the Temple in Jerusalem was cleansed King Hezekiah presented on this date the first offerings to Adonai (1, 2).
Nisan 17. Queen Esther intervened on behalf of the people of Israel and succeeded in delivering them from annihilation (1, 2).
Nisan 17. Haman was hanged on the very same gallows he had prepared for Mordechai.
Nisan 17. The wave sheaf offering was presented to Adonai on this uncounted day of Messiah’s resurrection (on re’shiyth chatzirat).
Nisan 17. The Messiah was resurrected on this uncounted day.
Nisan 17. Holy ones were resurrected on this day and were sent into Jerusalem to be witnesses to the resurrection of the Messiah.
Techiyat Ha-Mashiach (The Resurrection of Messiah):
Over three hundred prophecies in the Tanakh make it absolutely clear that the Suffering Messiah is the true Passover Lamb whose sacrificial death and shed blood (sacrificed life, both physical and spiritual) causes the wrath of Adonai to “pass over” (pasach) those of us who have put our trust in Him. The sacrifice of the Mashiach provides us atonement for sin. In addtion on HaBikkurim, at the techiyat ha-Mashiach (the resurrection of Messiah), the Lord goes beyond the work of securing forgiveness for our sins. At His resurrection the Messiah vindicates the righteousness of the heavenly Father and He secures the promise of eternal life for all who believe in Him.
The Sin-offering was accepted
The resurrection of the Messiah reveals to us that the Holy One accepted the sin-offering of the Individual Suffering Servant Messiah on our behalf (cf. Messiah in HaBikkurim, Chapter 68). The Sign of the resurrection of the Messiah declares that the Lord of lords and King of kings (מלך המלכים ואדון האדונים) has pardoned us and it is proof that the Father of Mercies has accepted Messiah’s payment for our sins.
The resurrection validates the Message and Works of Messiah:
The Sign of the resurrection is also Adonai’s vindication of His Beloved Son. The resurrection of the Suffering Messiah validates His message and His works. He is declared with power to be the Son of the Heavenly Father by his resurrection from the dead. Due to the Messiah’s willingness to humble Himself to become our sin-offering, the Father of the Messiah (Avi Yeshua Hamashiach Adoneinu) has raised Him from the dead and exalted His Name above every other name, forever.
