Obedience is Adam’s love language to Adonai Avinu:
שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל ה’ אֱלֹהֵינוּ ה’ אֶחָֽד׃
Shema Israel Adonai Eloheinu Adonai echad!
The root meaning of the name of Shim’on is “shama” (שָׁמַע). This supremely important word in Hebrew means to hear, understand and obey. In the Torah children are told to obey (שָׁמַע) their parents. Obedience is the love language of Adam (mankind) to Adonai. In the Torah all Israel is instructed to live a life of full-obedience to Adonai. The word Shema (hear-שְׁמַע) at the beginning of our unity prayer (Deuteronomy 6:4) means more than just the English word to listen. In the Shema prayer all of us who are blessed to be a part of the elect nation of Israel (lit. Rule of El-יִשְׂרָאֵל) are committing ourselves to “hear,” “understand” and “obey” absolutely everything Adonai (ה’) says to us.
The name Simon (Shim’on) speaks of what Adam is to do:
This means each of us when reciting the Shema has committed (dedicated) our entire body, soul, mind, and spirit to act as an ear that hears, a mind that sees, a soul that understands, and a spirit that fully obeys Adonai! Therefore, each of us is agreeing to always and forever do exactly what the Holy One says. In this sense the hearer becomes a physical extension of Adonai Elohim. The hearer becomes the Father’s permanent dwelling place. Individually and collectively we are His Temple. However, for all except the only begotten Beloved Son (Ben Yachid ben *Yadid), keeping the promise of the Shema to Adonai Eloheinu is impossible!
*Alas, Biblical Hebrew is not Modern Hebrew. The words yadid (יָדִיד) and yedida today simply mean an ordinary “friend.” Not so in the Torah (Deuteronomy 33:12):
לְבִנְיָמִן אָמַר יְדִיד ה’ יִשְׁכֹּן לָבֶטַח עָלָיו חֹפֵף עָלָיו כָּל־הַיֹּום וּבֵין כְּתֵיפָיו שָׁכֵֽן׃
Of Benjamin he said, “May the Beloved (יְדִיד-Friend) of Adonai (ה’) dwell in security by Him, Who shields him all the day, and he dwells between His shoulders (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
The nickname that was given to Shim’on (שִׁמְעוֹן) by the Messiah was “Keifa” (כֵּיפָא). Translated into Greek Keifa’s name is Peter (Πέτρος-Petros). The name Keifa (Aramaic), Petros (Greek), and Peter (English) means “Rock” or “Stone.” Whereas: first, the name Shim’on (Heard) bears witness to what Adonai (our Father and our God) wants us (redeemed humanity) to do—-‘Hear’ His Word; second, the second name of Keifa (Peter) reveals what *Avinu Shebashamayim expects us to become—-His indestructible, incorruptible House (dwelling place) of Rock or Stone.
*Our heavenly Father.
Adam must be remade out of incorruptible material:
Adam is to be re-made in the image of Elohim (Tselem Ha-Elohim). Adam’s virtue is to harmonize perfectly with the virtue of Adonai Elohim. Our heavenly Father’s goodness, righteousness and truth are unchanging. He is incorruptible. So must Adam be. Adam (Man) is meant to exist in a fortified state of perpetual compliance with Adonai’s will. Therefore, Adam is to live a life of unending conformity to the virtue of the Holy One. Although steel is a good metaphor for strength it carries with it the unfortunate possibility of rusting (corruption). Therefore, in antiquity the most ancient, durable and change resistant (incorruptible) substance known to Adam was stone (אֶבֶן-‘eben in Hebrew). Stone (keifa in Aramaic) is the ultimate building material. Stone construction assures a builder that his building will be fortified to the highest possible degree. Abba our Father wills that His permanent dwelling place (Hebrew: Adam-אָדָם; Greek: Anthropos-ἄνθρωπος) must compliment His own perpetual, unchanging strength, durability, and reliability. Redeemed Man (Adam, Anthropos) is, therefore, destined to be the heavenly Father’s immortal, incorruptible, unassailable House of Stone.
Peter’s name (Keifa) reveals that Adam must become what Messiah already is:
Before proceeding any further it should be obvious to anyone reading these Proceedings of the Heavenly Court that this is not ordinary literature. Adam (man) did not construct this evidentiary account regarding the Testimony of Messiah. The Eternal One did. In this narrative of the Besorah of Adonai all the details surrounding our Messiah’s life are generously and meticulously endowed with Divine meaning by the Spirit of Holiness. Out of Adonai’s immutable rule, from His eternal throne, in His sovereignty the Holy One has ordered every “name,” “place name,” “time” and “event” to graphically bear witness to the fact that the Beloved Son, the *Rabban Yeshua (*the eternal Rosh Ha’edah, and Head of of the Sanhedrin), is more than just an ordinary judge. He is Ha-Shofet haChayim v’hametim (השופט החיים והמתים-the Judge of the living and the dead).
Messiah is Ben Ha-Elohim, Elohim cloaked in human form:
The Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation (רוח חכמה והתגלות) is the One who helps us see what the wise and aged eyes of Yochanan the Elder (הזקן-the old, the ‘bearded one;’) saw when at around the age of one hundred he wrote this precious account. Messiah is the Rabbi Ben Adonai. He is the Voice of our Divine Teacher (Adonai). And He (וְעַתָּ֥ה ה’ אָבִ֣ינוּ אָ֑תָּה) is our Father and the Messiah’s Father. He is Avinu Shebashamayim (our Father who is in heaven) cloaked in human form. No man is our Teacher. One is our Teacher and He speaks through His holy servant the Messiah. God is our Teacher (אֲנַ֤חְנוּ הַחֹ֙מֶר֙ וְאַתָּ֣ה יֹצְרֵ֔נוּ וּמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יָדְךָ֖ כֻּלָּֽנוּ׃). The Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation Himself is the Author of this living literary-Masterpiece.
“He [Andrew, Adam, Man] found first his own brother Shim’on.”
This small phrase reveals in the will of Adonai (our Father and our God) what is of first importance for Man (humankind) to do.
Adam receives his Hearing after he is conceived in the Womb of Eternity:
The Greek word for “first” in the Septuagint (and the Brit Chadashah) is “proton.” Proton means first in succession, time, rank, influence, or honor. Above all else Adam (Man) must first (echad-אֶחָד) Hear Adonai’s Teaching. The Beloved Student of the Father of Mercies must first come to be disciplined in the Word of Adonai (D’var Ha-Shem). In the beginning, before sin had ever occurred in the race of Adam, the first Adam was created with an innate ability to listen to, understand and obey his heavenly Father. The Living Torah of the Father of All (Avi-khol) requires perfect obedience to His Word from all of His intelligent creatures. When Adam was first conceived in the womb of the Eternal One’s Mind, the Mind of the God of the Beginning (אֱלֹ֣הֵי קֶ֔דֶם-Elohei Kedem), it was determined that Adonai alone would be the Teacher (Rabbi) of Adam (and of all humankind). The word for “brother” (adelphos) used in the Greek translation of the transcripts of the Proceedings of the Heavenly Court transcribed by the scribe (סוֹפֵר) Yochanan ben Zebedee originate from the word “womb” (delphos).
The word brother here literally means from the same womb. Hayotzer (the Creator) at the first made Adam to have Perfect Hearing. The Creator has always meant for the two brothers, the brother (‘ach-אָח) called Hearing and the brother (אָח) called Man (Adam-Anthropos-Andreas) to always remain together (and never for the two to separate from one another). For when man puts himself before Hearing the Father then the unity (echad) of God to Adam is lost. This never happened with M’shiach HaAdam Ha-acharon. This is why in truth the Messiah has always been able to say:
“.אני והאב אחד אנחנו”
“I (the obedient man) and the Father (Adonai our God) are one (אֶחָֽד-unity)!”
The Firstborn is called by the name of the “Hearing One:”
At the first Adam (Man) finds “his brother” the Hearing One. The very first recognition a child has of his parent (his mother) is when he imprints on her “voice” (בּת קול). This voice imprint occurs while the child is still living in the house of his mother’s womb. Similarly we discover Messiah (the new Adam) who pre-exists creation had heard Adonai’s Eternal Voice in the “Bosom of the Father” before anything ever existed and before He was physically born to be the Messiah. In the narrative-testimony regarding the Messiah (The Last Adam, HaAdam Ha-acharon), that we are presently privileged to meditate on, it is the firstborn who is named Hearing. It is the Hearing One (i.e. The Word, Ha-Davar) who pre-exists first before anyone or anything else that has come into existence in and through the womb of the Holy One (i.e. out of His eternal-being).
The God of the Beginning chose to open-up the womb of eternity to enter His Spirit into the old failed-creation order as HaMoshia l’chol Adam. He did this to usher in the beginning of a new creation order that would never fail.
The Spokesperson for the sent ones is testifying here that the one person capable of hearing and obeying Adonai’s Eternal Voice perfectly is the Messiah Himself! It is Ha-Mashiach Yeshua who rebirths and re-stories the entire race of Adam (Man). Therefore, in Messiah, Abba our Father has given us the necessary means so that one day (on the day of our resurrection) we too will perfectly hear, understand, and obey His Voice; as the Messiah already does, who presently sits at the right hand of the Father of Glory (Avi HaKavod) as the preeminent one (Habekhor) of all creation.
