Mashal of the Assembly in Sardis:

משל של הקהלת בסרדיס

אל מלאך קהלת סרדיס כתב: את אלה הדברים אומר זה אשר לו שבע רוחות האלוהים ושבעת הכוכבים:  פ

To the Messenger of the Sardis community write: These words are said by the one who has the seven spirits of God (שבע רוחות האלוהים) and the seven stars (שבעת הכוכבים):

אני יודע את מעשיך; יש לך שם שאתה חי, ואתה מת. שקד וחזק את השארית שנטתה למות, כי לא מצאתי את מעשיך משלמים לפני אלהי. לכן זכר כיצד קבלת ושמעת, ושמר וחזר בתשובה. אם לא תשקד אבוא כגנב ולא תדע באיזו שעה אבוא עליך. ואולם יש אצלך שמות מעטים בסרדיס אשר לא הכתימו את בגדיהם. המה ילכו אתי בבגדים לבנים, כי ראויים הם.  פ

I  know what you do; You have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Wake up (שקד) and strengthen what remains that was dying (שנטתה למות); for I have found your deeds incomplete before the Face of My God (לפני אלהי). Remember (זכר) what you received and heard and keep it (ושמר), therefore, return in repentance (חזר בתשובה). If you do not wake up I will come like a thief and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. But there are a few in Sardis who have not stained their garments. They will walk (ילכו) with Me in white clothes (בבגדים לבנים), for they are worthy (ראויים).

המנצח ילבש בגדים לבנים ולא אמחה את שמו מספר החיים, ואודה את שמו לפני אבי ולפני מלאכיו. מי שאזן לו, ישמע נא מה שהרוח אומרת לקהלות.  פ

The victor will wear white clothes and I will not erase (מחה-blot out) his name from the Book of Life (ספר החיים-Sefer HaChaim), and I will confess his name to the Face of My Father (פני אבי) and before His angels (לפני מלאכיו). Whoever listens (מי שאזן לו-has an ear to hear) will hear, understand, and obey (שמע-shama) what the Spirit says to the assemblies.
